First solo trip, ~6 weeks in Europe, have no idea how to start planning and would love some pointers. (19F Sweden)
I understand that of course I should do most of the planning myself, based on what I want to do, but I'd like some pointers on where to begin and HOW to plan. It's hard to Google something when you have no idea what you're looking for.
I'm looking at about 6 weeks, starting mid September maybe. My budget is around 3000-4000€, can go higher if necessary but would prefer something along those lines. My main points of interest are Amsterdam, Paris, southern France, Lisbon, Venice, Florence, Budapest and Zagreb, maybe Athens as well, but I have no idea yet if it would be doable. I don't like flying (phobia) so would like to take the train as much as possible, probably getting an interrail pass.
Other than that, I have no clue how to do this. Where do I start? Do I begin with planning more my exact route (not the time I'll stay, more like "after I'm done in X place, I'll take the train to Y place") and looking at what to do in each city?
What accomodation would be ideal? Airbnb seems reasonable price wise and having my own kitchen would be nice since I'm vegan and vegan restaurants are notoriously expensive. I'd rather spend the cash on experiences over food. Backpacker hostels seem good too, as I'm a very sociable person and fear I would get lonely.
On that note, what's the best way to meet other travellers, or locals to hang out with? Tinder I guess could work to meet loal hotties, but I'm not a huge ONS person (for the STD and safety risk) and I feel like people might just want to use me for that. Is Couchsurfing a good idea, not to find couches to stay on (feels too dangerous as a young girl with the physique of a beanpole) but to meet people to hang out with?
